The measure of success through a Triangle

Expansion of Lowri Beck's metering operations fuels a further site in the Wigan area

On Wednesday 26th August 2009, Lowri Beck, opened their new Data Retrieval Operations Centre at the Triangle Building, Unit 20 Swan Meadow Industrial Estate, Wigan. The office was officially opened by the Mayor of Wigan, the Honourable Mark Aldred. The event also welcomed the attendance of Wigan Warriors captain Sean O’Loughlin, local businesses, contractors, external clients, staff and the local press.

Due to continued expansion, the new 60-seat operations centre aims to provide further office space for the company’s manual meter reading and data capture business.  Lowri Beck have been successful in developing new business areas in the last couple of years including meter installation & maintenance, outsourced call centre services for small to medium sized enterprises and the development of mobile technology systems for field work management.

The opening of the Operations Centre makes this the company’s fourth office in the town. Lowri Beck also have a Customer Service centre for their meter reading business in Rodney House, King Street, a National Meter Operations Centre on Swan Meadow Lane and a 45-seat call centre at Westward House, King Street West. With an annual turnover now in excess of £20 million and over 200 people employed in the Wigan area alone, Lowri Beck are focusing their attention on becoming a more technically advanced organisation capable of adapting to the changing industry in which they operate.

Lowri Beck are proud to have supported and utilised local contractors in the renovation of the Triangle Building.  The management would like to extend their special thanks to Roba Construction, ExpoLink, CheckCommunications, TC Bibby, AKS Air Conditioning and Orbium, supported by the Lowri Beck project team, for all their hard work over the past few months.

Since the business began in 1996, Lowri Beck has set itself apart from its competitors by its flexible approach in supporting the data collection requirements of our customers, be they large energy suppliers, through to small new start utilities and businesses. In the past four years it’s enjoyed successful growth of in excess of 40%, year on year, resulting in winning the Fastest Growing Business category at the Wigan Business Awards in 2008.

Bob Vernon, Managing Director and Chairman of Lowri Beck, said:

"Lowri Beck look forward to yet another period of continued growth and hope that the success of its meter operations and electronic retrieval meter reading businesses will lead to further expansion and the creation of more jobs in the local area."
